Harry potter -an idea stolen from India?

Harry potter — It’s not merely a character, It’s an emotion, It’s a memory and It should not be easily forgotten. It was probably the first Hollywood movies I saw when I was kid and I’m still not over it.

This movie never gets old — This movie never gets old like Paul Rudd. Do you know a friend who is a fan of the 25-year-old American sitcom Friends? If you know, they would tell you how this sitcom still lives in their heart. There are people out there who watch this epic show to fight their boredom and anxiety. Harry Potter does the same for potter heads if not much. Wait, what? you don’t know what do I mean by Potterhead? well, It’s a term used to describe Harry Potter Fans, by Harry Potter Fans.

Book or a Movie? — It’s a never-ending debate among Harry Potter fans. There are not many movies out there that do complete justice with a well-written book. Those who have read all of the Harry Potter books claim that the movies don’t display all the emotions that the book conveys. Anyways, I still prefer a movie that too a Hindi dubbed for some reasons. The movie dubbing in Hindi must have been done by experts. Characters like “Moaning Myrtle” were dubbed in Hindi as “Mayus Meena”. Mantras like “ Expecto Patronum” were dubbed in Hindi as “ Pitradev Sanrakshnam”. It’s brilliant dubbing if you ask me. Let’s also not underestimate books. Harry Potter books were bestselling books at its time. J.K. Rowling, Writer of Harry Potter books is still an inspiration for many fiction writers out there and deserve not to be forgotten ever.

An Idea stolen from India? — Don’t skip this part. I mean I wrote the whole article just to share this piece of information. Pablo Picasso is often quoted as saying: “Good artists copy, great artists steal.” I wondered if J.K. Rowling did the same? Let me come to the point directly, I already made you read the above crap. Remember Krishna? Our own Indian God. If you are not a stupid teen who doesn’t know about our great Indian mythological stories, you must know this. Krishna was born to kill Kansa and Kansa had this idea already so he tried to kill him right from the beginning, right from his birth. But in the end, good triumphs over evil, and Kansa gets killed by Krishna.

Isn’t Harry Potter’s story revolves around the same idea? Harry Potter was born to kill Voldemort. Voldemort knew it from the beginning and tried to kill him when he was an infant and kept on trying till his last breath much like Kansa.

Now imagine a foreign writer who stole the concept, added her characters, used her power of imagination, and made millions out of it. Doesn’t it kill you a little that as an Indian you could have been at her place?

I leave this thought to you.

Bye.

I speak my mind and write my heart.
